Ultrasound in Cyberjaya: understand your scan

Ultrasound (a scan that uses sound waves) creates moving pictures of organs and soft tissues inside your body. It does not use X-rays. At IIHC in Cyberjaya, our team helps you understand the examination and what to expect.

Your doctor may recommend ultrasound to investigate a symptom, check an organ or assess blood flow. Doppler ultrasound (a technique that checks blood flow) helps examine arteries and veins. The right scan depends on your symptoms and medical history.

Read our patient guides to choosing a scan, preparation and understanding your report.

Vascular Ultrasound & Doppler Studies

Evaluates blood flow in arteries and veins to detect DVT, blockages, and vascular abnormalities using non-invasive Doppler imaging.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound

Provides real-time imaging of muscles, tendons, and joints to diagnose injuries, inflammation, and soft tissue conditions.

Liver Fibroscan & Elastography

Non-invasive assessment of liver stiffness and fatty liver using advanced shearwave elastography technology.

Before your ultrasound

Ask for the instructions for your exact examination. Some scans need fasting (not eating for a specified time); others need a full bladder. Bring earlier reports or images and tell the team about your symptoms.

During and after your scan

The team applies gel and moves a transducer (small handheld scanner) over the area. Tell them if pressure feels uncomfortable. Ask when the report will be ready and who will explain the findings. Ultrasound cannot show every condition, so your doctor may recommend another test.
